My work explores the indentations left behind on used analogue technology. I’m interested in what we are able to say with the use of redundant types of technology.

Interaction  is a crucial element in what has become a generative process. The work displayed in my shows consists of a typewriter, which uses a carbon paper ribbon embedded with type. I take left over residue which has been produced by anon as the starting point for works on paper.

The typewriter ribbon becomes a kind of matrix and acts as a  transfer. I like the versatility that a seemingly simple process such as typewriter ribbon is able to produce. I’m able to take it in many directions. This process is unique to me and is produced through a  relief printmaking technique. The prints are paired together to reflect the original matrix , setting up positive and negative images.
